Vietnamese automaker VinFast plans to invest USD 2 billion in building an EV factory in India's Tamil Nadu state. The factory aims to produce 150,000 cars annually and transform the Thootukudi region into a premier EV production hub. VinFast, part of the Vingroup conglomerate, is also investing in an EV factory in North Carolina and plans to establish a factory in Indonesia. The company aims to expand its sales in 50 markets worldwide by the end of 2023. Despite initial challenges, VinFast remains optimistic about its global success.
